Drake Lomax
Strengths and Weakness Paper:
My name is Jared Drake Hayes Lomax. Not many people can say they have four names but I can. I was given the first name Jared because my dad’s name is Jonathan and my mom wanted the kid’s names to start with the letter J as well. I received the name Drake because my Mom liked it and she didn’t know anybody else named Drake. My other middle name, Hayes, also came from my Dad because his middle name is also Hayes which is sort of a family tradition. And of course we have the last name Lomax.
The first things I’d like to discuss are the things that I consider to be my weaknesses. I will admit that my first weakness as a teacher and as a person in general is that I am very impatient. When I want something to get done I want to get it done right then I do not want to wait a week, when it’s on the mind it’s getting done. Another weakness that I’ve had in the past is that I have been known to be short tempered. I’ve had times in my life when I’d just lose it and also go crazy. I haven’t had this issue in quite a while though and I’ve really tried to get over that. The good Lord has really helped me with my temper though; I’ve learned patience also from teaching six to eight year old boys at church as well.
As a teacher and also as a person I would have to say that my greatest strength is my ability to connect with mostly all people at any given time. I’ve learned that through my church especially. I deal with different people from all different walks of life and somehow someway I’ve been able to find a common ground with all these different people. I believe having an ability to get on many different people’s levels at many different times is very important in being a teacher. If I can relate to my students a different ways I’m more out to be able to teach them better and they’re also more out to be willing to learn through me.
